Definitely not as strong as season two, but still GOOD!
This season focuses HEAVILY on the absolutely grotesque and weird of the witch cult. The animation still delivers and the few new characters that are added, are a fine addition to the story. Some side characters take the main stage as well as our main characters! Some things gets answered, but somethings are unfortunately still left hanging.
ACTION and gore definitely take the center stage, as the plot is a bit more simpler this time around. It definitely felt like a build-up season for more interesting things to come. If you can stomach the patience and wait (who knows maybe another 3 to 5 years?), for season 4, I'd recommend it, but yeah we all know that your most likely going to watch anyway.
Even as one of the weaker seasons, it definitely had its moments. It continues to deliver.

Despite the obvious detractors, this has been a kick-ass season. While this has been limited to a single locale, it involves a major series of battles with not one, but THREE Sin Archbishops of the Witches' Cult. Two have made earlier appearances (Gluttony and Greed) with a new one, a psycho chick representing Lust who seems to have some serious issues related to the now-dead Betelgeuse Romaniconti (Sloth).
Gotta love the world building and character development. Not to mention a decently-paced story.

After the nice conclusion to S2, I was curious the direction S3 would go in even though there were some remaining storylines from the previous season. There aren't many twists as other seasons, this is focused on the dark tone, violence and action, but it was cool to see all of the twisted personalities from the Witch's Cult. This season doesn't resolve many lingering storylines so I'm eagerly awaiting S4.

Haters gonna hate, ReZero gonna keep being awesome.
They should have released it without that stupid 3 months pause in between. Or maybe, I should have waited until now to binge S3. Anyway, that's the only problem with it.

The decline of Rezero continues, with this season focusing mostly on minor characters getting fleshed out and partaking in battles. Since they were never made to seem important, half the episodes come off as filler. Imagine if Yamcha has his own 5 episode arc in Dragonball. Nobody will care. Most were bored with them.
In the meantime, the MC is now surrounded by a dozen loli-like waifus, further proving how it’s not that different from your typical escapism fantasy for geeks. It just took more time to become one. Most who thought otherwise, dropped the show because of it.
The new villains try hard to come off as intimidating as the archbishop of the previous season, and fail miserably. They lack his charm and come off as a tired rehash. Only Regulus is important plot-wise, and even he comes off as a nagging control freak who wants an endless number of waifus. He is your typical sadistic chauvinist that comes off as worse than the cringy protagonist, so you can hate him and root for his defeat.
Emilia, the main waifu and attraction of the show, devolves into a damsel in distress for Subaru to rescue, further proving the generic escapism the anime has turned into. The animators went as far as making her boobs bigger and had her talking about love like a 12 year old, further making her come off as an immature bimbo that does not deserve to be a leader.
As for Subaru, he doesn’t return by death much, which ruined the other main attraction of the show. The goreporn! What, did you think it was him learning as he goes? Nope! He does everything right on his second go, despite facing 4 archbishops at once. Because it would be impossible to excuse all the secondary fights working out if he constantly makes changes, therefore it was artificial as heck.
That aside, the author wanted you to think he became heroic and smart out of nowhere, and had him giving morale speeches to the people and to somehow figuring out Regulus’ source of power with practically no clues.Hewas basically a completely different character.
As a whole, there is nothing left for anyone to care about Rezero. It lost its main attractions and became another isekai harem.
