Anime: Maou no Ore ga Dorei Elf o Yome ni Shitanda ga, Dou Medereba Ii? 2pq42

This is a nice show, it has some flaws and some charms.

Biggest flaw, the pacing is a miss. If it were a proper full curse of 24 EPs with the same pace, than story would be much better. For 12 EPs some cuts should have been made. Basically, we see some introduction arcs for most of the protagonist inner circle. Main antagonist of the bigger story never ever arrive here, so the stakes are low and everything resolved without serious peril.

Biggest charm is adorable interaction between main protagonists. Yep, they are childish, but that is almost inevitable with their backstories full of trauma. Both of them had a very rough life from a very young age.

Also, the overall fantasy setting is brutal but interesting, so background world building hit the mark.

This is a romcom between two adults who behave like 12 yr old children in love. Maybe its this that has earned a lot of negative points. Its just a gentle light hearted story.

This takes place where sorcerers and knights are bitter enemies and the MC is a powerful sorcerer who purchases an elf and over time both of them develop feelings for each other. In the beginning, a fair amount of events happen but the pacing slows down towards the middle. I wouldn't classify this as a romance series as not much happens on this front. Overall, there is no main narrative/plot; however this is a decent series that has magic and fantasy elements.

I rated this and Kon'yakuhaki the same (6/10), while this is better than Kon'yakuhaki in some ways, in others it's worse, they tried to be a little more serious I guess ? yet they threated serious issues like kidnapping, attempted murder, patricide improperly, with the ol' enemies-becoming-friends routine, well half-improperly since at least 1 bad guy was actually killed so that's a plus.
Also I can't say I liked the subplot, I think I would have preferred no subplot or a political one to this.
I'll watch the next season, but I won't be reading the source material.

There's a lot of teenage angst involved in this series. The MC is definitely OP. There's interesting moments between him and other characters, but it is fairly plain. A simple antagonist and a simple resolution. The "romance" is decent, but definitely doesn't progress much which is very annoying. That is why romance is in quotes.

I hope they will produce a second season, because if not this will fade quite quickly.

Otherwise, not bad. Give it a go if you're looking for something to watch.

There seems to be a new trend in anime industry. First somebody makes a drab anime such as Kon'yakuhaki then somebody else basically rethinks the whole idea and corrects mistakes made by mentioned title and voila, you have a much better show, though it is basically the same. That is not to say it is a copycat or it leeches off that title, it's just a remake in a world of anime.

So this brings me down to repeat my statement - this anime is better than the mentioned title and much more solid story-wise except for ending, which I think is slightly cramped. It should have been either 13 episodes or 11, as 12th episode is kind of empty. Animation, idea and characters are very well thought out and balanced. Yet, the background story is too vague to be something serious, so it is more like a SoL than anything else and I would not expect season two, though if they have it, I would watch it.

TL;DR very light romantic time-filler SoL.
