Sadly I cannot really recommend this series, even if you liked Tenchi Muyo so is it still a decent watch at best.
The story takes a long time to start developing, it is messy and a lot of things are totally out of sync. It is not until around the middle it starts getting better but even then it is just slightly better.
It tries to have a somewhat serious story but also throw in comedy whenever it can and sadly they just cannot make it work together.
There are plenty of good short episodes anime out there so unless you really are a Tenchi Muyo fan so will I recommend you to ignore this.
Lastly if you believe that you will get to see a continuation of the original series so are you setting yourself up to be disappointed, it does not advance neither the relationships or characters from it's original show at all.

I'm not really in this series(watched only few other eps), but this one was very enjoyable and it encourages me to watch more of it... I would rather more like a movie than so many, so short episodes.
